French expertise in geothermal heat is exported to the Balkans!

In the Serbian Republic of Bosnia, the French geothermal association of professionals (AFPG) has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Bijeljina to be partner of the geothermal resources exploration in the Semberija area.

Jean-Jacques GRAFF, AFPG President, was present alongside the mayor of Bijeljina, Ljubiša Petrović to formalize this memorandum of understanding. The latter was signed via the company “GeoSaFe” – a Serbian subsidiary of GEODEEP, the French geothermal Cluster for export activities belonging to AFPG.

In the short term, it is planned  to carry out pre-feasibility studies for the geothermal supply of an existing urban heating network as well as for its extension. This network is intended to supply a very large part of the 45 000 inhabitants of this city.
