Bordeaux – Heat production

In Bordeaux, Storengy and ENGIE Solutions have joined forces and invested to develop a deep geothermal network, thanks to Storengy’s expertise in the exploration and development of the subsurface and ENGIE Solutions’ know-how in the field of heating networks.

This project is emblematic because it involved exploration of a deep reservoir with the implementation of an innovative solution for retreating into a known aquifer.

It is the first geothermal doublet for a heating network and has been operational since May 2020. The 25-km heating network will supply nearly 28,000 households and will enable savings of 19,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
